Music in the Park

In cities and towns across the country, residents are invited to bring blankets, folding chairs, and snacks to settle in for an evening of live music at their local park.

Not only are these local concert series a great way to discover more of the talented musicians in your area – but they also provide the perfect excuse to become better acquainted with your neighbors. Both Albany and Corvallis host their own Music in the Park events each year, and our real estate agents have loved attending them. Check out the schedule for this year's concerts to see if one of these events might be of interest to you too.

Albany's River Rhythms

River Rhythms is Albany's annual concert series, and many locals look forward to it all year long. The event takes place Thursday evenings at 7 PM in Monteith Riverpark at 489 Water Avenue NW (with a brief break on July 14 when the park hosts the local fair). Admission is free, but guests are strongly encouraged to make donations of $1 per person at the park's main gate on Water Avenue to help cover some of the costs of the event.

This year, River Rhythms is also hosting a secondary event: Rock Out Against Hunger. This fundraising and donation drive is being run on behalf of the Fish of Albany food pantry, a non-profit that feeds local families in need. Those who attend the concerts are encouraged to donate canned or boxed non-perishable food in the donation barrels that will be on-site at each event. The pantry will also be taking cash donations at this time. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community while enjoying the talents of local artists.
