Halloween is one of the most exciting nights of the year for kids and families across the nation. Due to the larger number of pedestrians and drivers, the night also has a higher risk of accidents. Our real estate agents suggest following these guidelines to ensure your Halloween is a safe, memorable night.

While downtown Albany is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it offers a vibrant present and future! Much like Corvallis, Albany's Willamette Valley neighbor, the city has retained downtown's classic charm while incorporating art, restaurants, and other contemporary features.
Our real estate agents take a look at some of the places and events that make downtown Albany a must-see location for locals and tourists alike.

At a time when many downtown areas are declining due to the appeal of the suburbs, Corvallis and Albany are bucking the trend. Both cities have received awards for successful revitalization of their downtown areas.
Its thriving downtown is one of the factors that landed Corvallis in the top 15 of Liveablity.com's best small to mid-sized cities to live. Our real estate agents know there is something for everyone in the downtown area.

In cities and towns across the country, residents are invited to bring blankets, folding chairs, and snacks to settle in for an evening of live music at their local park.
Not only are these local concert series a great way to discover more of the talented musicians in your area – but they also provide the perfect excuse to become better acquainted with your neighbors. Both Albany and Corvallis host their own Music in the Park events each year, and our real estate agents have loved attending them. Check out the schedule for this year's concerts to see if one of these events might be of interest to you too.
Albany's River Rhythms
River Rhythms is Albany's annual concert series, and many locals look forward to it all year long. The event takes place Thursday evenings at 7 PM in Monteith Riverpark at 489 Water Avenue NW (with a brief break on July 14 when the park hosts the local fair). Admission is free, but guests are strongly encouraged to make donations of $1 per person at the park's main gate on Water Avenue to help cover some of the costs of the event.
This year, River Rhythms is also hosting a secondary event: Rock Out Against Hunger. This fundraising and donation drive is being run on behalf of the Fish of Albany food pantry, a non-profit that feeds local families in need. Those who attend the concerts are encouraged to donate canned or boxed non-perishable food in the donation barrels that will be on-site at each event. The pantry will also be taking cash donations at this time. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community while enjoying the talents of local artists.

The Willamette Valley is celebrated for its small family-owned restaurants, diners, and eateries of all kinds. Our real estate agents know well that also includes plenty of bakeries.
